Pitsunda

The resort among the relict pines 

Pitsunda, a popular Abkhazian resort, is renowned for its wide sand and shingle beaches and clean seawater. Pitsunda lies on a large cape protruding into the sea, near a big grove of relict pines filling the air with their healing scent.
At the heart of Pitsunda is the Pitsunda Resort hotel complex, made up of seven high-rises located directly at the beach. Along the seafront promenade are numerous cafes and restaurants.

Music of the soul

During the holiday season, various Abkhazian folk ensembles perform on Pitsunda's stages. Pitsunda Cathedral, a unique Christian monument, regularly hosts classic and organ music concerts played by Abkhazia's best performers and groups. Abkhazia's State Choir also sings there. In September, the opera singer Khibla Gerzmava holds her annual classical music festival.
