Insurance Abkhazgosstrakh state company provides mandatory insurance services. The health insurance fees for individuals visiting the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia are 15 rubles for one day, or 10 rubles per day for visits exceeding one day. Children under the age of six are not required to get insurance. Visitors to Abkhazia are also required to insure their vehicles. The mandatory civil liability auto insurance fee is 175 rubles for 10 days, 275 rubles for a month or 700 rubles for three months. There are insurance counters in the pedestrian and automobile zones of the Psou border checkpoint. It is also possible to buy an insurance policy at the central office of Abkhazgosstrakh in Sukhum.
